Borrowdale Walks

5 Easy to Follow Walks Borrowdale  £2.50

Is Borrowdale the most beautiful valley in the Lake District? Many would say so but it's a debatable point with other stunners such as Great Langdale and the Buttermere/ Crummock Water vying for the title. Borrowdale is a varied valley with plenty of low level routes that give awe inspiring views of the surrounding fells and of course Derwent Water. Our routes are suitable for  all weather conditions.

Derwent Water
One of Lakleands' classic walks featuring a lakeshore stroll before a modest ascent to an elevated terraced path offering spectacular views over Derwent Water and the surrounding mountains. One of Lakleands' classic walks featuring a lakeshore stroll before a modest ascent to an elevated terraced path offering spectacular views over Derwent Water and the surrounding mountains.

Watendlath
Superb variety on this walk with the spectacular Lodore waterfalls, the secluded and elevated hamlet of Watendlath (tea room here!), great views over the valley and the curosity that is the Bowder Stone.

Stonethwaite Valley
A great walk to do get a sense of the height and drama of the surrounding fells - all easy walking and very tranquil.

Seatoller to Grange
Again, easy and fairly level walking in the heart of the very best of the Borrowdale scenery by passing the well known Castle Crag (one of the very easiest of the 'Wainwrights') and featuring a good length of walking by the crystal clear River Derwent.

Seathwaite Valley
Seathwaite may have a reputation for its annual rainfall tally but you will be more impressed by the splendour of its setting in the shadow of the highest fells of them all. Seathwaite Farm tea rooms are to be found part way into the walk .
